In New Hampshire, the ash trees have all died due to the emerald ash borer. The trees near the powerlines have been cut by the state, but out behind my studio, they stand tall, skeletal, holding a place in the tree line, but a place of emptiness. I saw Lisa Sanditz exhibit called Ghost Trees, and thought, yes these are like ghosts. I do see birds perched in them, imagine other bugs eating them. Hopeful they might bring about some new life.
