This series of work came from a week-long residency at the Canterbury Shaker Village. I spent time painting in the medicinal gardens. I was especially taken with the Black Cohash which had a variety of uses around menstruation, depression and as a way to end an unwanted pregnancy. It stood tall in the garden waving in the wind and covered in bees.
